Necessary Trouble
A collective of 20 organisations self-titled ‘Necessary Trouble’, came together in early 2025, as an experiment to explore better ways of working together which might shift the gaps and flaws in the systems which prevent children and young people from flourishing. They have a genuine appetite and energy for working together with the belief that no one organisation, government body, community group or philanthropic organisation can address these issues alone. In fact, what is required is deep disruptive change: not just at an organisational level and not one transition alone.
Jane Hunt co-leads and co-designs the collaboration, with the Alannah and Madeline Foundation as the catalyser, and 20 organisations working as an open, dynamic collaboration of thinkers, doers and organisations.
